Sean and the animals

Quelques animaux que Sean a rencontré. Ces photos sont de Sean Geragthy, un ami à moi, qui vit désormais à Londres. Sean est né le 21 février 1987 à Nice, France, d'un père anglais et d'une mère italienne. Il a commencé la photographie à l'âge de 17 ans comme assistant de photographes design / intérieurs. En 2002 il a travaillé à Monte Carlo avec le photographe britannique Nick Danziger et le peintre américain Nall. Après avoir travaillé au studio de Olivero Toscani, La Sterpaia en Toscane, Italie, il a emménagé à Londres où il travaille désormais en tant que photographe freelance. Pour plus de photos, rendez vous sur son blog.

Some animals Sean met. Those are photographies of Sean Geragthy, a friend of mine, living now in London.   Sean Geraghty was born on the 21st of February 1987 in Nice, France to an English father and Italian mother. He started photography at the age of 17 as an assistant to design / interior photographers. In 2002 he worked in Monte Carlo with the British photographer Nick Danziger and the American painter Nall. Coffee, view, newspaper

Premier matin dans mon nouvel appart, je me suis levée et me suis préparée un petit déj bien sympa. En lisant le journal je suis tombée sur un article très intéressant sur les parisiens. Assise sur le canap', je profite clairement de la vue !! je pourrais passer des heures à côté de la fenêtre. Aujourd'hui il fait plutôt gris en fait, mais ca me dérange pas ! je reste au chaud, me fais du café, écoute la radio. Pas besoin de monter jusque Montmartre, j'ai déjà une vue superbe, et depuis chez moi ! Amis parisiens, venez prendre le café !

First morning in my new flat, i got up and made myself a nice little breakfast, read the newspaper and found an interesting article about the parisians. Sitting on the sofa, i am definitly enjoying the view !! i could spend hours by the window. Today is actually rather grey, and i don't mind ! i stay at home, drink coffee, listen to the radio, and chill. No need to walk up to Montmartre, i already got a great view, at home ! Parisian friends .. come up for a coffee !

Sky above Paris

Jeudi soir, 19 heures, j'ai pensé profiter encore une fois de la vue de mon appart. Je déménage demain, donc en fait je devrais être en train de faire des cartons plutôt que de prendre des photos (oui j'ai le sens des priorités). Je vous promets de très bientôt poster des photos de la vue depuis mon nouvel appart qui se trouve au 6ème étage d'un ancien immeuble parisien... 

Thursday evening, 19 o'clock, i thought i should enjoy one more time the view from my flat. I am moving out tomorrow, so i should actually be packing instead of making pictures (yes i do know where my priorities are). I promise i will soon take pictures from the window of my new flat which is located on the 6th floor of an old parisian building...

Scandinavian street names /holga

Ces photos, je les ai prises avec mon holga, et c'était bien la première fois que je n'ai pas rencontré de difficultés avec la pellicule. Mon appareil est désormais entouré de scotch, je ne veux plus perdre le cache, trop de pellicules ont déjà pris la lumière. L'année dernière, je suis allée me promener au nord de Berlin avec une idée bien précise en tête : photographier les noms de rues scandinaves. Donc j'ai pris les panneaux en photo tels que : Kopenhagener Str. Nordkap Str. Isländische Str. C'était une journée chaude du mois de Mai, 2009. J'ai beaucoup aimé cette journée. J'ai fait des doubles de ces photos, que j'ai ensuite mis dans un grand cadre, c'était un cadeau d'anniversaire pour un ami proche, qui lui aussi, aime la Scandinavie. Le cadre était tellement grand que j'ai eu du mal à l'emballer ! ensuite j'ai du aller à pied jusqu'au bar où nous avions tous rendez-vous, bien sûr il fallait qu'il pleuve des cordes, le papier a pris la flotte et mes grandes qualités d'"emballeuse cadeaux" n'ont pas pu être apprécié..

Those pictures i made with my holga are kind of the first ones i got without any trouble, indeed i used to have problems with the film. Now my camera is wrapped in tape so that i can not lose the camera cover again. My films are safe, they won't get any other direct sunlight. Last year i went for a walk in the North of Berlin, i had a clear idea in mind : photograph the scandinavian streetnames. So i shoot the streetsigns such as Kopenhagener Str. Nordkap Str. Isländische Str. It was a warm spring day, 2009, i enjoyed it much. I made copies of those pictures, put them in a big frame, that was a birthday present for a close friend, who also loves Scandinavia. The frame was so big that i had trouble wrapping it into some giftpaper ! then i had to walk to the bar we were all meeting up, of course it had to rain like hell, so my amazing wrapping skills could not be appreciated, the paper was just destroyed..

Samedi après-midi : une longue marche à travers Montmartre, mais pas du côté touristique, au contraire, nous sommes allées dans les petites rues derrière le Sacré Coeur, pour enfin arriver dans un petit parc avec une superbe vue sur tout Paris. Nous y avons fait une petite pause, et apprécié la vue. ensuite on a trouvé une place pleine de charme avec un café très sympa, "L'été en pente douce" nous y sommes restées au moins 4 heures .. il a en effet commencé à pleuvoir des cordes, on a du coup même fini par manger là. en tout cas, j'y retournerai !

Saturday afternoon : a very long walk through Montmartre, but not through the tourist area, on the opposite, we went to the tiny empty streets behind the Sacré Coeur, and ended up in a cute little parc with an amazing view on the whole city. we sat there to rest a bit, and enjoy the view. then we found a tiny place with a lovely café, "L'été en pente douce" and there we stayed for at least 4 hours .. well .. it started raining like hell, so no one was really feeling like leaving the café. we finally had food there too. I loved it and will definitly go back someday!

Minerals and Crystals

En vadrouillant sur d'autres blogs je suis tombée sur ces peintures .. oui oui .. des peintures .. d'une pure beauté sur toiles de minéraux et cristaux. Je les trouve juste magnifique. Bravo Carly Waito, mes yeux te remercient.

Surfing on the net i came across those paintings .. yes yes .. paintings .. amazingly beautiful of minerals and crystals. I find them just amazing. Bravo Carly Waito, my eyes are very thankful.

Upside down

Sens dessus dessous. La première photo a été prise à Berlin l'été dernier dans le parc de Arkonaplatz, après une petite virée au marché aux puces d'à côté. La deuxième photo est prise Place des Vosges à Paris cet hiver.

Upside down. The first picture was taken in Berlin last summer in the parc by Arkonaplatz, after a little walk through the fleamarket. The second picture was taken Place des Vosges in Paris this winter.

Un week end à Paris

Ca fait plusieurs jours que je me dis je dois faire le montage de ce petit film. Finalement, dimanche dernier j'ai eu un élan de motivation, donc j'ai tout monté. C'était un super week end à Paris, mon amie S. était venue me rendre visite. Les week end devraient plus souvent ressembler à ça, même si on a eu droit à une sacrée tempête, c'était super.

It has been now a few weeks that i am telling myself, i have to do the making up of the short movie. Finally last sunday i got the motivation, so i put it all together. It was a lovely week end in Paris, with my good friend S. who came visit me. I think week ends should be ofter like that, eventhough we've been through a storm, it was fun.

Casiokids. En Vill Hest.

Aujourd'hui je suis allée boire un chocolat chaud avec un ami en ville, nous avons parlé musique puis on est venu a parlé de musique des pays scandinaves, mais dans leur langue d'origine, il m'a parlé des Casiokids de Norvège (Bergen), que je ne connaissais pas. Une fois chez moi j'ai écouté ce qu'ils faisaient, et j'en suis simplement tombée amoureuse. Je pourrais passer des heures à écouter cette vidéo. (thanks a.)

Today i went for a hot chocolate in town with a friend, we exchanged some music opinions and ended up talking about music in original scandinavian languages, he told me about Casiokids from Norway (Bergen), which i did not know. Once at home i checked their music, and i just love it. I could spend hours watching this video. (thanks a.)

Samedi après midi , mon amie et moi avons bravé le froid hivernal qui a fait son retour sur la capitale, et sommes allées nous promener dans les petites rues du marais. Nous nous sommes arrêtés rue de Commines dans une toute petite boutique, I love Norden. Un petit gars bien sympa nous a donné quelques infos sur le magasin. On y retrouve plusieurs marques scandinaves, comme WoodWood, Whyred etc. Mon coup de coeur, le sac écolier suédois, pratique il a une mousse à l'intérieur pour s'assoir dessus lorsqu'on fait un pique nique.

Saturday afternoon, my friend and I went out for a walk eventhough it was really freezing as the winter made a little come back in the capital. We went walking in the tiny streets of le marais and stopped rue de commines, in a very tiny shop, I love Norden. A nice guy gave us a few informations about the shop, we can find several brands from Scandinavia such as WoodWood, Whyred etc. My little favorite item, the swedish school bag, very practical, it has a thick layer on which you can sit when having a picnic.
