Driving through the California Wine Country

We went to Napa and Sonoma Valley, the California Wine Country, as we drove back to San Francisco the light was great, so i took some pictures from the car :)

Sausalito - CA

Sausalito is a great spot to get a great view of the San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge, plus it is super cute with its houses by the water and on the hills. The view was really enjoyable, by day and by night too. I'd definitely recommend you stop there if visiting San Francisco! It is right after the Golden Gate Bridge, you'll recognize it by its large houseboat community resulting from the hippie invasion in the 60's and 70's.

Two quick stops: Truckee & Sacramento

On our way back to San Francisco we stopped in Truckee, a big town in the middle of nowhere, and later at night we stopped in Sacramento, and went see the Capitol.

Lake Tahoe - CA

 

 

Lake Tahoe, early morning, late afternoon. At a surface elevation of 1,897 m, Lake Tahoe is located along the border between California and Nevada. The lake is so peaceful, quiet .. the pictures speak for themselves i guess .. We arrived on the first day of snow, which gave the scenery great colors, great atmosphere. We drove from South Lake Tahoe to the Northern shore on the western road .. all along the view was great, from both sides, the lake and the gigantic pines.

On the road - Part 2 - CA

 

So first we drove through a very dry area, then we drove up the Sierra Nevada ... at more than 3000 meters (!!!) it then started to snow, we could hardly see something, i was a bit worried up there .. in the middle of these huge mountains .. the snow, the wind, hardly a car .. and also not knowing when we would start driving down again !! it felt like being on a ski slope .. but with a car ! but we saw some fantastic landscapes .. (when we could see something)
